Zlatan On Rejecting Arsenal And His Relationship With Guardiola: The Swedish Legend Speaks Out

Ibrahimovic who stated this in an interview with Piers Morgan which will be released on Thursday, October 5, said he had to turn down the invitation then because the former Arsenal’s coach was inviting him for a trial.

The 42-year-old Swedish football icon stressed that he was too good to go for trials which was why he turned down the offer even though he was just a 17-year-old then.

“Wenger invited me but I didn’t go to Arsenal. I don’t do trials”, he said.

“No no, you don’t understand… I don’t do trials. I am the best; f**k the rest”.

After turning down an opportunity to play for Arsenal, Zlatan Ibrahimovic went on to join Dutch club Ajax in 2001 where he won two Eredivisie, one KNVB Cup, and one Johan Cruyff Shield.

From there, he joined Juventus in 2004, Inter Milan in 2006, and FC Barcelona in 2009.

While at FC Barcelona, before he went on loan at AC Milan in 2010, he was coached by Pep Guardiola who was just venturing into professional coaching then.

In his interview with Piers Morgan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed that one of the rules of Pep Guardiola at Barcelona was that none of his players must drive a luxurious car like a Ferrari to training. Immediately the coach told him that, he brought a Ferrari to training.

The Swedish icon said, “When I first met Pep Guardiola, he told me: remember, players here don’t come with Ferraris

What did I do? Of course. I brought my f**** Ferrari”.
