Kano State To Protest Judge's 'Red Cap' Comments In Election Tribunal

The Kano State government is determined to submit a formal complaint against one of the judges from the Kano Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Justice Benson Anya. They are taking this action due to Justice Anya's remarks about the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya political movement.

In his recent tribunal judgment, Justice Anya criticized Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and described NNPP members in derogatory terms, including "red cap wearers," "violent and terrorist cults," "bandits," and "bitter losers." The state government is deeply offended by these comments, considering them an insult to the memory of late Malam

Aminu Kano and the people of Kano State. They intend to pursue all available avenues, including filing a petition against Justice Anya with the Nigeria Judicial Council (NJC), to address this issue and seek justice.
