Pogba's Doping Drama: The Player Fails Drug Test A Second Time.

It has been confirmed that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba failed his drug test, as his B sample returned a positive result earlier today, October 6.

Recall that Juventus had to place the 30-year-old Frenchman on indefinite leave in September after it was announced that his initial blood sample contained abnormal levels of testosterone.

After Pogba’s initial suspension in September, it was reported that Pogba violated anti-doping regulations after it was found that he had the prohibited drug “non-endogenous testosterone metabolites” in his body system.

A hormone called testosterone aids in the longer-distance running of sportsmen and virtually every sports organization deems it illegal for athletes.

At the time of the initial suspension, Rafaela Pimenta, Paul Pogba’s agent, said: “What is certain is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break a rule.”

The France international was selected for testing at random on August 20 after Juventus’ 3-0 victory over Udinese even though he was a substitute in the game.

If proven guilty, he may be subjected to a two to four-year doping suspension.

Juventus re-signed Paul Pogba as a free agent on a four-year deal when his Manchester United contract expired in July 2022.

Apart from the indefinite leave he is currently subjected to due to the doping scandal, Pogba is currently recovering from a back injury.
